A Church Management Software API for Ekkli

Ekkli's public API is available today as a paid add-on, at €25 a month. It gives read-only access to your events, sermon details and public pages, so another site or a developer can pull them in. Per-token rate limits apply, and no personal information is reachable through it. See pricing for how add-ons work.

What the API covers, and what it doesn't

The API is deliberately scoped to public data: events, sermon details, and the public pages of your church's Ekkli site. It does not expose member records, giving data, or anything else behind a login — there's no path from an API token to personal information. That makes it a good fit for pulling published content into another site or a custom dashboard; it isn't a general-purpose sync layer for member or financial data. If your church needs that kind of deeper, two-way integration, see the comparison below.

What most churches use it for

The common use case is a tech-savvy volunteer or a network's IT person wanting a documented, supported way to pull data out of Ekkli programmatically — event data flowing to a separate calendar system, or a custom internal dashboard showing upcoming events and recent sermons instead of someone copying details across by hand. Ekkli's own features already cover most of what a church needs without a separate integration — worship presentation, a church website with a member portal, an admin-facing member management database, rotas, and event registration all live under one login — so the API is aimed at the smaller set of churches and networks that specifically need public data to flow into a separate system.

If you need deeper integration than read-only public data

Some church management platforms ship broader API access covering member and volunteer records, not just public data. Elvanto publishes an API covering people, volunteers, groups, services, and events, so a connected system can read and write core church records directly. ChurchTools goes further still, with a published catalog of more than 800 API endpoints. FellowshipOne (F1) offers a REST API that's free to use for churches and qualified partners building integrations on top of it. If your integration genuinely needs read/write access to member records rather than read-only public data, one of those is worth a look — Ekkli's API is intentionally narrower in scope, by design, to keep member data out of reach of API tokens entirely.

Rate limits and access

Access is per-token, with rate limits applied per token to keep the API stable for everyone using it. The add-on is €25 a month on top of your plan — see pricing for how add-ons combine with your plan.
